Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost will direct 'Paranormal Activity 3' for Paramount.
The "Catfish" team of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman are set to direct "Paranormal Activity 3" for Paramount Pictures.
Original "Paranormal" director Oren Peli is returning to produce with Jason Blum, while Steven Schneider and Akiva Goldsman will serve as exec producers.
"Paranormal Activity 2" scribe Christopher B. Landon is also returning to write the third film in the hit horror franchise.
Plot details are being kept under wraps but the film is currently being envisioned as an origin story set in the 1980s that will follow a new family.
Paramount's newly-promoted exec Ashley Brucks will oversee the project for the studio.
Paramount will release "Paranormal Activity 3" on Oct. 21.
The low-budget "Catfish" grossed nearly $3.5 million worldwide en route to becoming a cultural sensation due to questions surrounding the pic's authenticity.
Joost and Schulman are repped by CAA.
