From?Ashley... When my dear friend, Sunny, told me that she was expecting a baby, I could hardly wait to give a shower in her honor. Several other friends were eager to help and make her day special. Luckily for us, her husband's family has a lovely beach house on picturesque Sullivan's Island. The expectant parents do not know the baby's gender so it was only natural for us to go with a yellow and white theme. Sunny loves the coast and the family's home provided splashes of nautical decor. Each of the hostesses brought silver baby cups and we tied them to the chandelier with yellow ribbon. The beverage containers had fun yellow and blue labels. Of course, we had champagne on hand for those who wanted a mimosa! As a nod to Sunny's name and personality, the flowers consisted of bright yellow roses, calla lilies, tulips, and hydrangeas. One of the hostesses made an adorable diaper cake that is sure to be used!
We served desserts because the shower was held in the middle of the afternoon. Guests nibbled on chocolate covered strawberries, key lime tarts, brie, and the prettiest petit fours.
The day was so much fun and it was very evident that this baby is already loved by many! Sunny opened many sweet presents and was a glowing mom-to-be. Sunny, we are so happy for you and we hope you enjoyed your special day! We are excited to meet this baby!!!
